The publishing of the bilingual MICE China magazine marks a high point in China’s MICE industry! The importance of MICE travel is well recognized for both its higher per capita spending and the greater economic benefits that it derives. A business traveler attending trade show will incur significant travel costs but will likely bring some more businesses. An incentive trip re-energizing the team will raise productivity. Given the high stake, planners can ill afford any mistake and will need reliable information and innovative idea. The MICE China magazine will be a good source.
Exhibitions underline the fast growth of China’s MICE industry. Total area of exhibitions in China grows by 20% and China now hosts over 3000 exhibitions in a year. In 2004, the number of Chinese exhibitors and trade visitors attending exhibitions in Hong Kong rose respectively by over 50 and 90%. It is a “three-ways” growth-domestic, inbound and outbound, and service providers are at its own risk not paying enough attention. The MICE China magazine will be an effective tool for them.
The fast growth of MICE industry is also a worldwide phenomenon. Accordingly, we launch ITE MICE in June this year concurrently with our ITE, the International Travel Expo Hong Kong. Together, there will be over 600 exhibitors from some 60 countries and regions and around 50 official pavilions with over half of them by tourism authorities from outside Asia. You will also find trade seminars, forums, products and services presentations in our Expo. By allowing face to face discussions, we supplement well the good efforts of the MICE China magazine.
