Experiential communications agency Jack Morton has doubled its presence in the Far East with an office in Beijing.
The outlet will service UK and international clients¡¯ increasing demand for the region ¨C although it will not act as a DMC for inbound business.
According to Jack Morton president for the international market Lois Jacobs, the new office will take some pressure off the agency¡¯s existing Hong Kong office.
¡°From Hong Kong we regularly do work in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the rest of the region,¡± she said. ¡°So with the booming Chinese economy and the growing numbers of clients who need to be there, Beijing was a logical expansion.¡±
Jacobs stressed that the decision to open the new office was not related to the agency¡¯s ongoing bid to organise the opening ceremony for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
However, she admitted it would put the agency in a better position to
help some clients. ¡°The Olympics are a factor in that many of our clients will be holding events in Beijing leading up to and during the Games.¡±
