Kuoni appointed official travel partner for Ironman events

Kuoni Destination Management has been named Official Travel Partner for the Ironman triathlon events in five different countries. The appointment underscores the Kuoni Group’s adopted strategy of further enhancing its presence and activities in niche markets, and also enables Kuoni to expand its already-strong position within the sports travel sector.
As Official Travel Partner of Monaco-based Triangle Events and BK Sportpromotion AG of Schlieren, Switzerland, Kuoni Destination Management will be providing tourist travel products and services – accommodation, transfers and more – around the Ironman events organised by these companies in Switzerland, France, Monaco, Austria and South Africa. The services will be provided for the athletes themselves, for their companions and for VIP guests.
With its extensive destination management network, including its own personnel at all the destinations concerned, Kuoni is excellently equipped to ensure the smooth and efficient provision of all the services envisaged. “We are delighted at the opportunity this agreement gives us to further underline our declared strategy of establishing ourselves in niche markets and expanding our sports travel activities,” says Rolf Schafroth, CEO of Kuoni Destination Management.
Kuoni has appointed a dedicated individual Marcel Riediker to assume overall charge of this new business. Riediker will manage and monitor all these activities from Kuoni Destination Management’s Zurich head office.
