ICCA UK & Ireland signs deal with Leith¡¯s
31/5/2006
The UK & Ireland Chapter of ICCA has teamed up with catering firm Leith¡¯s to expand and enhance the ICCA member activity programme, launch joint initiatives and to raise the profile of catering within the meetings industry.
The three-year deal was brokered by Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre London commercial director Steve Norcliffe and marks the first business partenership with a commercial organisation that the ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter has entered into.
ICCA UK & Ireland chairperson Brian Horsburgh said that the deal fitted with the move to expand and enhance the member-activity programme and the Chapter¡¯s pioneering of joint initiatives within the UK&I meetings industry.
¡°The three year business partnership with Leith¡¯s has given the Chapter a major boost to enable it to develop our activities,¡± said Horsburgh. ¡°We chose Leith's because it is a major caterer and part of the global Compass Catering Group. The relationship will be a working partnership for both parties. ICCA UK&I Chapter will involve Leith¡¯s in our activities, and invite it to engage with the industry on key catering issues.¡±
Andy Hardy, operations director, Leith¡¯s said: ¡°We will be working with the ICCA UK&I Chapter to raise the profile of the catering function as one of the key components of any meeting, in an international multicultural context. ICCA UK&I will utilise our expertise and experience in appropriate Chapter events and joint initiatives.¡±
