CSA Tour Ends Travel Agency Business
09/10/2006
Following the closure of CSA International Travel Service in July, China Southern Airlines Tour has now also ended its travel agency service in Guangzhou.
CSA Tour announced on October 7 that it had closed all of its businesses in Guangzhou, and for the rest of this year they will work to end the CSAT Shenzhen and CSAT Shaanxi offices to only focus on hotel business in the future. CSA Tour is a joint venture company in which China Southern Airlines Group holds 35% of the shares.
Su Tangli, general manager of CSA Tour, said that the company held a shareholders meeting last week in which all the major shareholders agreed to end the travel agency service, and currently they are deciding how to deal with their debt. According to Su, CSA Tour owes more than RMB5 million to different companies.
In the future, CSA Tour plans to develop their more than 20 hotels and create their own hotel brand in China.
