MPI¡¯S 2007 WORLD EDUCATION CONGRESS

Meeting Professionals International¡¯s (MPI¡¯s) recent 2007
World Education Congress-la Montreal set a new record with
a total registration of 3,665, making it the largest global
event in MPI¡¯s 35-year history. The previous record-holding
event was MPI¡¯s 2006 World Education Congress in Dallas with
3,595 registrants.
Countries represented: 34 (up from 28 last year) including
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada,
Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico,
Monaco, Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Puerto Rico, Republic
of Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United
Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uruguay and United States.
¡°I¡¯m especially proud of this year¡¯s event, not only for its
record-breaking attendance, but for the immediate $10 million
economic impact on Montreal,¡± said Bruce MacMillan, CA, president
and CEO of MPI. ¡°Delivering increased value to our members,
our stellar educational program and expanded trade show elevated
the knowledge and learning offerings and marketplace opportunities.
Plus, our integration of corporate social responsibility into
the organization¡¯s DNA had the perfect launch pad in environmentally-friendly
Montreal, where our board unanimously agreed to sign the UN
Global Compact on CSR.¡±
MPI is planning a host of new ¡°alternative¡± educational concepts
and marketplaces for its 2008 Professional Education Conference-North
