Meeting Professionals International and MPI Foundation
Meeting Professionals International and MPI Foundation
In a partnership intended to transform the future of the meetings and events industry, Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the MPI Foundation are collaborating with The Masie Center & Learning Consortium in a creative alliance that is meant to revolutionize the learning opportunities provided to the largest global community of meeting and event professionals.
Starting with a video release on January 10, 2008, featuring Elliott Masie, CEO of the Masie Center and MPI president and CEO Bruce MacMillan , followed by an interactive ThinkTank Session during MPI¡¯s 2008 Professional Education Conference-North America (PEC-NA) in Houston, February 2-5, members and non members of MPI are invited to share in co-creating and discussing the ¡°Future of Meetings.¡±
By uniting learning and meeting professionals, both MPI and the Masie Center hope to revolutionize the thinking and perspectives about the meetings industry. The Masie Center & Learning Consortium, encompasses a worldwide membership of more than 1,000 ¡°Learning Leaders¡± from corporations such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Target, American Express and 3M in a ¡°first time¡± collaboration that will tap into the wealth of knowledge from both organizations. Some of the professional development opportunities available through several door-opening avenues, include:
¡¤ New Technology Development
¡¤ Content Management
¡¤ Marketplace Opportunities
¡¤ Attendee Experience
¡°As more companies embrace the strategic role meetings play in achieving their business goals, an even greater emphasis will be placed on how to conduct a more productive, and impactful meeting by employing new technologies, re-examining the overall structure of the meeting and enhanced knowledge and training for meeting professionals,¡± said MacMillan. ¡°We are honored to join with the Masie Center & Learning Consortium to explore how smarter meetings mean better¡ªand more¡ªbusiness for everyone involved.¡±
