Three Queens on the seven seas in 2007
5/9/2006
Cunard has unveiled the full 2007 program for Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth 2 and the latest 'royal', Queen Victoria, as well as early 2008 voyages aboard QM2.
Highlights of the year include the debut of the superliner, Queen Victoria, the 40th anniversary of QE2's launch and a record 22 transatlantic crossings for the world's longest liner, Cunard's A$1 billion flagship, QM2.
The three Queens - a first in Cunard's prestigious 167-year history - are featured in Cunard's new glossy 2007 brochure for Australia. The program profiles an unprecedented 80 sailings from April 2007 to April 2008 including legendary transatlantic crossings as well as voyages through Europe, the Caribbean and Canada and 11 'sampler' cruises of five nights or less designed to allow more people to experience the golden age of ocean travel aboard the world's most famous liners.
Cunard's new 2007-08 cruises are in addition to world voyages by both QM2 and QE2 that will see them meet in Sydney Harbour on February 20 next year, with the 151,400-ton QM2 set to break the record as the biggest ship ever to visit Australia.
"A holiday at sea feels much more special on ships that are international icons," said Cunard Line Australia's Managing Director Gavin Smith.
"Cunard's liners are known worldwide. And they are true liners - grand, opulent and romantic ships that pamper passengers like royalty and recreate an era when getting there was half the fun."
