Silversea Cruises Flagship Luxury Cruise Ship Arrives in Asia
16/11/2006
Silversea's flagship luxury cruise ship Silver Whisper arrived in Asia this month for the first time. Silver Whisper will be based in Asia for an extended season from November 2006 to February 2007 offering voyages ranging from 9 to 15 nights based to or from Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
On its maiden voyage to Asia, the ultra-luxurious all-suite Silver Whisper arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, 15 November, in Singapore on 16 November and in Hong Kong on 27 November 2006.
Commenting on the healthy upward rise in regional sales, Steve Odell, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing said, ¡°Silversea has recorded a further 38% rise in local revenue following year-on-year growth for the period 2005/2006, while the yield per person continues to increase. This reflects the consistently high levels of annual growth that the cruise industry in general is experiencing. It also underscores our decision to establish a regional office in Singapore in 2004 headed by Regional Director, Melvyn Yap as well as introducing an increased Asian cruise season.¡±
Silversea has created a comprehensive Asian cruise program which commences with an enticing 12-day voyage from Singapore to Hong Kong on 16 November.
En route, Silver Whisper will visit Koh Samui before sailing to numerous intriguing ports including an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City. After calling at Nha Trang and Da Nang, guests will be treated to a complimentary traditional Bay of Dragons junk excursion in Ha Long Bay before setting sail for a fitting overnight finale to Hong Kong on 26 November.
Other interesting ports that will be visited during the Asian cruise programme over the next three months include Sihanoukville (for Siem Riep and Phnom Penh), Haiphong, Phuket, Corregidor, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Darwin and Cairns, as well as other popular Australian ports.
To complement the cruise experience, Silversea offers guests a range of tempting land programs. From viewing the majesty of Angkor Wat, absorbing the beauty of the Taj Mahal to walking the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China, all programs include deluxe accommodation, transportation and transfers as well as sightseeing and meals.
