Significant steps taken to further strengthen ITE MICE
To draw more event organizers & planners and corporate visitors from the neighboring province of Guangdong , ITE MICE has secured official supports from the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA), and chambers of commerce of Guangzhou , Dongguan and Shenzhen which are also being known as CCPIT sub-councils.
Moreover, ITE MICE and the non-Asian parts of ITE will be held at adjacent halls in level 2 of Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) for greater synergy between the two events, while the Asian parts of ITE will remain at the three halls in level 1 of HKCEC. Therefore, the next ITE MICE and ITE will together use five halls, instead of four in last year.
HKECIA has now 85 members which include organizers of exhibitions, conventions & events, venue management, industry support organizations and related services providers etc. In addition to their activities in Hong Kong, many of HKECIA¡¯s members also engage in trade exhibitions and conventions in other cities of Asia and mainland China .
The last ITE & ITE MICE drew over 600 international exhibitors from 55 countries and regions, 45 official pavilions by tourism authorities with nearly 60% from outside Asia, over 10000 trade visitors with 35% from mainland China and abroad, and respectively 55% and 17.5% being travel agents and corporate visitors.
The next ITE MICE will be held from June 14 to 16, 2007 at hall 2A of Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), while ITE07, the 21st International Travel Expo Hong Kong, from June 14 to 17, 2007 at halls 1A , B and C, and hall 2B of HKCEC.
